Community Services

Centerfield City Office

The City Office can assist with:

  • Utility services

  • Building permits

  • Animal licensing

  • City events and information

  • Youth Council information

Animal Licensing

Dogs residing within Centerfield City limits are required to be licensed. Contact the City Office for current licensing requirements and fees.

Building Permits

Contact the City Office before beginning construction projects, additions, fences, sheds, accessory buildings, or other improvements that may require permits or zoning approval.

Gunnison Post Office

Centerfield residents receive mail through PO Boxes at the Gunnison Post Office. There is not generally residential mail delivery.

Central Utah Public Health

Located in Manti, Central Utah Public Health provides:

  • Vaccinations

  • WIC services

  • Family health resources

  • Public health programs

Sanpete Pantry

The Sanpete Pantry provides food assistance and resources for individuals and families throughout Sanpete County.

County & State Services

  • Sanpete County Offices – Manti: Vehicle registration, elections, and county services

  • DMV – Richfield: Driver licenses and identification cards

  • Emergency Services: 911 and non-emergency dispatch

School Information

Students attend schools within the South Sanpete School District.

Families should note that class assignments are often finalized and announced shortly before

the school year begins.

School activities, athletics, clubs, and fundraisers are an important part of community life.

Common fundraisers include:

Community Events & Traditions

Easter Egg Hunt

Centerfield hosts an Easter Egg Hunt at Centerfield City Park on the Saturday before Easter. Additional Easter activities are often held at Gunnison City Park.

Pioneer Day — July 24

Pioneer heritage is celebrated throughout the valley. Nearby communities, especially Mayfield, host events honoring the pioneers who settled the area.

Family Fun Night

Held each August at Gunnison City Park, Family Fun Night provides an evening of games, entertainment, food, and activities for families throughout the valley.

Sanpete County Fair

Held annually in August, the Sanpete County Fair is a summer highlight and features:

  • Livestock shows

  • 4-H exhibits

  • Rodeo events

  • Entertainment

  • Food vendors

  • Community exhibits

Harvest Moon Festival

Held annually during the third weekend of September.

Activities often include:

  • Parade

  • Community dance

  • Family games

  • Fireworks

Halloween Trunk-or-Treat

Held annually at Centerfield City Park.

Community members are encouraged to decorate vehicles and bring candy to share. Participants are asked to use the designated candy-distribution area to help create a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Activities may include:

  • Hot chocolate and donuts

  • Costume contests

  • Youth Council-sponsored prizes

  • Community booths and activity stations

Christmas Tree Lighting

Centerfield City hosts a Christmas Tree Lighting each December to kick off the holiday season.

Gunnison Light Parade

Held the Saturday following Thanksgiving, the Gunnison Light Parade helps usher in the Christmas season for the entire valley.

Local Attractions & Hidden Gems

Beck Family Farms

A favorite destination for local families offering:

Hosts special events throughout the year, including Girls Night Out and other community

gatherings.

Casino Star Theatre

In addition to weekly movies, the theater regularly hosts:

Food trucks occasionally visit Centerfield and Gunnison throughout the year. Follow local

Recreation & Youth Activities

Most youth sports for elementary and middle school-aged children are offered through Gunnison Valley Recreation. Offerings and seasons may vary from year to year. Visit the Gunnison City Webpage for more details.

Swimming Pool

Centerfield City helps subsidize admission costs for residents at the Gunnison Swimming Pool.

Programs may include:

  • Summer Swim Team

  • Winter Swim Team

  • Swim Lessons

  • Swim Camps

Swim team registration is handled through the pool rather than Gunnison Valley Recreation. Children who can swim a lap without assistance may be eligible for swim team.

Mountain Biking

Local students may participate in mountain biking programs through area schools and organizations. G Hill in Gunnison also provides local mountain biking opportunities.

Horse Programs & Riding Lessons

Several local instructors and facilities provide horse lessons and equestrian opportunities throughout the valley.

The local library offers programs, resources, and services for children, families, and adults throughout the year.

Story Time

Regular story time programs are offered for young children and families.

The Summer Reading Program encourages reading and learning through activities, events, and incentives during the summer months.

Children’s Activities

The library includes quiet play and learning opportunities for children, including a train table and other educational activities.
